Waxwings

Waxwings are occasional visitors to the Gainsborough area in the winter months. In some winters we get a few, in other winters there are none at all.

There were 16 in the trees outside the Old Hall on November 24th 2012, and a single bird outside Gainsborough College on March 11th 2014.

I have seen them in previous years as well at Whitton’s Garden and the Levellings.

I did hear of a flock of around 20 Waxwings on Corringham Road, Gainsborough in March 2017. I didn’t see them myself, but I saw the photos, which can be found in our gallery.
